In this day and age so many people are discovering the need to explore their spiritual depths. At Sacred Weddings we understand how very important the wedding ceremony is to fulfilling those spiritual needs. When a couple begins the wonderful adventure of marriage together the wedding ceremony is the focal point for those commitments. With our own priest / minister Sacred Weddings can offer you a ceremony that not only fulfils those needs but can be tailored to your specific requirements.

The marriage ceremony is the true starting point and foundation for that journey. To help us God has given us the incredible gift of imagination. Imagination is what helps us along the bumpy road, free our minds to soar and play, a very necessary escape to keep us sane while bonding us to the one we love when shared.

We know how important your wedding ceremony is to you. You will remember it for all time. It becomes a symbol of your love for each other , an anchor to hold you together through storms.

We can offer themed weddings, Medieval, spiritual, SciFi, Druid and even create a wedding theme of your choice. Custom vows can be created calling on rites and customs unique to your heritage or beliefs.

Medieval Wedding Ceremony:

Edward IV Wedding Ceremony

Spiritual Wedding Ceremony:

Bride and Groom together:
The flame of this candle symbolizes the spirit of our love.
We pray that with God’s help it shall burn brightly for all time.
No ill wind shall dim it. It shall warm us though cold times.
Through it’s light we shall accept the truth in each other.
It’s brightness shall fire our imaginations and bring joy to our days.

Groom:
My love for thee shall shine brighter than Heavens stars
I shall protect thee with the strength of my arm and the cold steel of my blade
Thy love for me shall be my shield and my armour.
My love for thee shall protect you from all evil.

Bride:
My love for thee shall lift thee up,
My faith in thee shall bring down any that would stand against you.
Thy love for me shall be as the first sunrise that ever was.
My love for thee shall never fail, but stand firm for all time

I, [Groom's name], take you [Bride's name], to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love.
I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever.
I will trust you and honor you
I will laugh with you and cry with you.
I will love you faithfully
Through the best and the worst,
Through the difficult and the easy.
What may come I will always be there.
As I have given you my hand to hold
So I give you my life to keep
So help me God

I, [Bride's name], take you [Groom's name], to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love.
I will cherish our friendship and love you today,
tomorrow, and forever
I will trust you and honor you
I will laugh with you and cry with you.
I will love you faithfully
Through the best and the worst,
Through the difficult and the easy.
What may come I will always be there.
As I have given you my hand to hold
So I give you my life to keep
So help me God

In unison: Entreat me not to leave you, or to return from following after you,
For where you go I will go,
and where you stay I will stay
Your people will be my people,
and your God will be my God.
And where you die, I will die and there I will be buried.
May the Lord do with me and more if anything but death parts you from me.

Unity Candle:
Main candle, unlit, is placed before couple. “Candle bearers” bring two slim lit candles and hand one to the Bride and the other to the Groom.
Together the couple lights the main candle.

Either the Priest or the couple says:
These two flames represent our spirits and our love.
We join them together in one bright flame and shall
Burn even brighter for all time.
No ill wind shall dim it.
It shall warm us though cold times.
Through it’s light we shall see and accept the truth in each other.
Its brightness shall fire our imaginations and bring joy to all our days.

Exchanging of the Rings:
The wedding ring is an unbroken circle that symbolizes unending and everlasting love and is a visible symbol, which represents your inner commitment to one another. Love freely given has no beginning and no end, no giver and no receiver for each is the giver and each is the receiver. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken.
